I have been having some problems with my wireless network--the Actiontec feeds an Netgear Orbi via ethernet, and the whole thing locks up every few days and everything needs rebooting.
On the Netgear site, it was recommended that I upgrade the Actiontec, as it is ancient and might be the cause of the problem. I have fits 50/50 with a temporary "free" upgrade to 100/100.
I don't think Verizon is going to give a new router for free, so in that case I would rather buy a new one that rent one from them. I can get a used G1100 for $50 or so. My ONT is also old, but I don't want to get a service call if I can avoid it, due to COVID.
Is this upgrade a good idea? Should I look at a different MOCA router?
BTW, I don't use Fios boxes for TV, I use cablecards and TIVO.
Since you do not use FIOS TV, please considering switching to your your own router.

I second dslr's post. Take the ActionTec out of the picture all together. Have Verizon switch your ONT off of Coax and onto Ethernet for the WAN connection delivery. From there you'll be able to connect your Orbi setup directly and use it as your primary router. If you need MoCA for your Tivos to get a Data connection, MoCa adapters are cheap and can be hung off of your Orbi.
I have the same setup and experience the same reboots. Actiontec, Orbi and Tivo. Were you able to find an acceptable solution?

Points to https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r33341863-Verizon-Fios-and-Orbi where the OP of that thread has the G1100 instead.
