According to Speedtest, my Internet speeds have dropped to .74 Download and .69 Upload. I've done everything suggested on a previous page like rebooting the modem and having virus and spyward protection. Why am I not getting the 2.7 speed I'm paying for? Thank you.
Can you visit http://192.168.1.1/ and tell us what speed th emodem is showing it is connected at? Failing that, could you tell us what modem or router you are currently using?
similiar problem here (area 19018) ..slow speed since about 5hrs .. the test IP resulkts in this :

Same issues here in 17901.
Started 12/20 or so. Usually was during peak hours but was bad almost all day over holiday and weekend.
-Reset and tried different modem (6100G to 7500) and all cables. Including DSL "phone" cable to jack.
-DSL line is independent of land line. Land line shows no static, drops, quick busies or cannot dial msgs.
-Scanned drive for everything and defragged, overkill I know but want to "check all the boxes" so to speak.
-Regular tech. suppt. says line tests look great.
-Modem always connects at 7669 speed shown when I hit the modem on 192.168.1.1 and for a few hours here and there I get that whereas before I got it almost 24/7 before.
-Disabled firewall just to be sure.
-Speeds as low as 0.8 Mbps multiple times to servers in PA. on speedtest.net
-Trans stats look within <.5 of old "good" stats
I'm sure there's more details to post but this was primarily to throw my hat in the ring for anyone who's calling VZ to cite. On that note, I've contacted corporate/executive suppt. and have a ticket # and was told to call back exec. if the problem is not solved to my satisfaction.
Will test with fresh Win install with only a browser connected to NID if executive fails me. Hopefully we'll get some relief from this soon.
Sorry to inform you of this but I've had this problm since October. So far it has Not been fixed. Tech support at 800 number is worthless, and so far have had a tech. at my place now 3 times checking installation. Wish you luck, but whatever it is, it's in verizon not your home.
To Smith6612, the site : Can you visit http://192.168.1.1/ does not work, is there any other method on how to check the speed ?? Also I see that other users have the same problem, will this be fixed since it is on VZ's side ??

Ran a line from the NID to a fresh system. Three speedtests, same thing, all below 3.5 Mbps. Modem connects at 7669 but speedtest runs are absolute garbage no matter what servers I try. Well, not totally garbage, pings look fair. *sigh*
Calling exec. tomorrow since they were out of the office today. I'll drop whatever news I may find out and hopefully it will help some of us here.?.
I see the same thing Gio, speeds aren't making sense at all. It literally is all over the place although last night after about 1 am until today around 3 pm I had a solid 6.5 to 7. Mind you, all of this testing is simply to verify what I believed in my case already, this is on their end.
I had similar symptoms for four months from 1/11-4/11 and maintenance finally called and said there's new equipment in the CO and we're just waiting for it to get installed and the woman said no doubt it will fix the problem. Within a few days it was back to 7 Mbps., 24/7 again.

Ok ..got the tech in today and looks like I got the full bit's as promised , however just posting the result and if there is any expert give me a comment or reply let me know if this is good..Because i am looking for more speed ..hopefully not or maybe swichtchng to cable ..broadband ..but really dont know if i should ..should I ??
