My Internet speed, tested either with the Verizon tool or at DSL Reports, is always between 1.5 and 3.7 Mbps although I have a High Speed Internet Advanced which is described the following way in MyVerizon:
Your High Speed Internet Advanced service is provisioned to achieve downstream connection speeds between 4 - 7 Mbps . We will periodically monitor your line and set your maximum connection speed to the highest stable rate between 4 - 7 Mbps.
I have tried to contact Verizon in various ways, to no avail. Does anyone know what I could try next?
Thank you in advance!
Ishtar
If you are having an issue with your Verizon service, you can use the Verizon Troubleshooter to fix and report issues with your Verizon Phone, FiOS TV, or Internet Service. You can also schedule a repair. Here is the link: http://www.verizon.com/repair
You can also find tools on the Verizon Residential Support page that may help you diagnose your issue: http://www22.verizon.com/residentialhelp
I should add:
My modem is a Westell 6100G on which I disabled the router because I use a Linksys 160N. My setup is fine.
In the first few days after switching over from Earthlink, I did get speed in the range of the plan I'm paying for. It feels as if I've been downgraded after it was clear I was staying,
Thank you for the link, but it is for checking the status of a repair request. I've searched a lot but could never find how to request a repair.
The rest of the info is not ncessary for me, I know how to set up networks. The problem is with Verizon's speed cap settings.
Can you post up a speed test along with your modem's Transceiver Statistics for us to see? We should be able to see what the deal is here with those two pieces of info.
Right now, my speeds are at 5-6 Mbps, something I hadn't seen since my early days with Verizon.
As to my modem's Transceiver Statistics, I don't know how to see them. I put the modem in bridge mode because I wanted to use my N router. I would appreciate knowing how to get the modem's statistics. Thanks!

I agree with your last ! 57 min. On hold and transferred / routed 3 times ! Still not an English speaking experienced tech available to service a customer's account of 7 + years. I do believe Verizon is just too big to provide what it claims. 3 G is a joke most times unless your in the big city. Customer service alone is enough to make me want to switch providers.
I have the same problem online speeds NEVER DELIVERED ! Back to the "WWW" World Wide Wait

That is an interesting question.
I have heard/read that while a RJ-45 WAN port router is setup to use PPPoE but is not connected by PPPoE, as long as both routers (RJ-45 WAN port and modem combo) are in two different subnets you can get in there.
I point to the thread at
In that same thread - if the RJ-45 WAN port router handles PPPoE, this is how to get into the modem combo while connected

Also in that same thread, if this RJ-45 WAN port router is running Tomato or DD-WRT, I point to
