Run speedtest often and make sure the speed is what you pay for. I have been paying gigabit connection  but found out I only got 100 megabit connection for months. Verizon can only do $25 credit.

Can you describe the setup...the model ONT, router, connecting cable (or post some pictures)? Are the tests using Wi-Fi or Ethernet? Is the speed readings duplicated by multiple devices?

Getting 100Mbps from a gigabit connection suggests an issue with cabling.  If you'd like help from the friendly users here diagnosing and resolving this issue, please post some more details.  The information dexman requested is a great place to start.
