Switching from WiFi->Coax connection

My WiFi connection goes in and out. I connected a coax cable and it still is running off the WiFi connection. How do I disable  or choose which connection? I have selected okay on WiFi connection to switch....it reboots but still WiFi.

When you said you changed this setting, where did you do it:

a) On your computer

b) An extender

c) In a NAT router

This question is a little hard to understand.

you are using what router? Is your service ethernet or MOCA (coaxial) ? What is the speed of your internet? Do you have just internet only or tv and phone as well?

when you say turn off your wifi do you mean at the router? 192.168.1.1 sign in with your master ID and password located on the router if verizon Quantum Gateway Router 

if using your own router verizon will not support it.

I assume you are refering to the new IPC?

If so, my understadning is that there is a setting to disable the wifi.
That will then default box to coax.
