I'm having an awful time with my service. I just recently bought a house and had my service transferred there. Prior to moving, at the previous address, my service was...ok. I could get upwards of 500-600Mbps via wifi, and a little higher via ethernet. Sometimes. Now I am at the new address, and my wifi struggles to break into the 200's at times, and my wired Xbox One X can barely hold 50Mbps. The wifi speeds are while standing less than 10 feet from the router, with absolutely no obstructions. I've tried chatting with Verizon customer support, but they are painfully awful and infuriating to deal with. Nothing more than scripted responses and answers with absolutely no help whatsoever. I'm currenly waiting on a new Quantum router to be shipped to me, but I have a real good feeling that it won't solve anything. Is there anything special I can request, or a better (and not outsourced) customer support line I can call or chat with?
You can use the Verizon forum at http://www.dslreports.com and use their secure Fios help https://www.dslreports.com/forum/vzdirect
they are real Verizon help representatives and may be able to assist.
even if your router is kaput (is this router taken from the old location)? It may be the new router is kaput. Or it could be a faulty ONT oe even a bad ethernet connection screwing up your router.
The quantum gateways are known for not being great on WiFi. Just google it and see for yourself.
