Trouble setting up wi fi to home computer

Are these specific wi fi modems that work with the verizon phone/internet modem?  I have tried and tried to connect my HP PC to my wi fi in order to use my laptop and e-reader, but fail each time.  Downloading the Verizon home agent was no help at all.

Just about any wireless adapter should work.  Some of the older ones may not support WPA2 and very old ones may only support WEP.  And WPS to help setup doesn't work. 

Make sure you check correct ssid, passphrase/passkey, and security type.
