I cannot connect my MAC to the internet. I currently have Verizon DSL using a Westell Model 6100 and a Belkin Router. I have tried and tried, but to no avail. I am not entirely familiar with MAC as I have used nothing but PC's all my life, so maybe I am doing something wrong.
Since you have a router which should be serving up your connection to the rest of your devices, how are you trying to configure the Mac? You should be able to plug the Ethernet cable into the Mac and it works, obtaining all information via DHCP. If you're on Wireless, Apple devices have been known to have issues with WEP Security, as well as more modern devices. If you've got WEP for security you could try moving to something else such as WPA2-PSK AES Security.
When you were using a PC and connected to the Internet..
