Unable to Finish Re-Installation

Yesterday, I noticed a red light on my modem. After turning it on and off, unplugging it and check the connections, I finally resorted to resetting it.  Of course, I had to go through the process of reactivating the account. First, I used the installation disc I received long ago (2007). However, the process stops when it tries to download software, the required "update service"(if I recall correctly). It tells me to click on a non-existent bar on top of the webpage. It say that  if the bar isn't there to "click here," but the link is dead. Nothing happens when I click on it. Also, the "Ask Verizon" tab on the side gets a 404 page. So, I decided to use Internet Explorer only to get the same results. IE keeps giving me certificate errors

We also have FIOS in the house (I"m happy with the DSL and DO NOT wish to change) and downloaded In-Home Agent to see if it could help. It says that the In-Home Agent service is down ( I get a certificate error here as well), but when I try it on FIOS, it works (No certificate errors).

I would really appreaciate any help I can get on this. Is there a way to get the DSL working without downloading the software download, just have it activated?

Visit http://192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect.htm and disable the walled garden. Use admin/admin or admin/password to log into the modem if you have not changed the login.

If your user/passis admin/password, you may need to visit http://192.168.1.1/ and change the password first.

I apologize for not responding. I will try this either tomorrow, Monday, or Tuesday and post the results.
