I cancelled Verizon 6 days after the start of my billing cycle. When I talked to the customer service I made sure they are clear that I do NOT want FIOS anymore, because the service cost too much and it wasn't working most of the time anyway. They then informed me that I would be charged for the rest of the billing cycle anyway. How do I get my money back? I have called the customer service multiple times. The last time I called the lady told me she didn't care. There wasn't anyone I could complain to or talk to that would care or change this policy. That this was the standard policy of Verizon and I would be required to pay. I was just so surprised that this is what a company considers customer service now. I think it is ridiculous. I am sure if I started my service on the 7th of June I would be required to pay them for the rest of the month a pro rated amount. But I as the customer am not entitled to the same courtesy. What kind of service is this? And then they wonder why I didn't want to continue with Verizon anymore?
The costs are associated as to when you cancel. Contract or non contract.
when you admit you cancelled after your billing date you owe only that rest of the month you paid. You should not have any prorated billing. Verizon does not do it.
you choke it up to experience and learn in case you ever return to Fios.
