Verizon DSL - SSL?

Currently, I have "Secure Sockets" option on "Never". Should I switch that? Also, which Submission Port to use? (Does it matter?)

#1 Where are you seeing that:

a) In a web client/web browser - settings

b) In a web daemon/web server - settings

?

#2 Even better, the exact name and version of the program of where you are seeing that.

For example

a) FireFox ver 63

b) Apache HTTP Server ver 2.4.37

#3 If using a web client/web browser connected to a web daemon/web server, what web 2.0 software?

Note I am guessing the right term.

For example using Firefox ver 63 while connected to

http://127.0.0.1

(which is running Apache HTTP Server ver 2.4.37) with phpBB version 3.2.3
