I have notice that Verizon FIOS looks to be switching my WAN IP address every 5 mins from a 72.xx.xxx.xx to a 96.xxx.xx.xx and vice versa. This is causing serious online connectivity issues with gaming and streaming. The 96 IP address provides the worse connectivity on my 75/75 with speeds ranging from 0.5 mb down to 303 mb down. Up speeds also swing to inconsistent ranges.
72 IP is very consistent and within my 75/75 range. Is there a way for the IP not to switch?
There are a couple of ways to correct this. I hope 🤔
First I would take your router and press the reset button on it, wait 10 minutes and then reinitalize the router just remember it will need to be logged into again with the original name of unit and password. You can change the router SSID and password later if you desire.
once you have a DNS it should fix your issue.
the second thing I would do is call 1-800-VERIZON and select tech support and have them look and troubleshoot the router. If defective they can replace it.
Good Luck
