If FiOS is available in your area, you can get FiOS Internet as a standalone product. The DSL service however is no longer permitted to have just DSL on the line. You need to have some sort of phone line in order to get DSL. That policy was put in place a few months back after Verizon supported dry-loop DSL for ages. Anyone who has DSL only are currently in a grandfathered setup.
