WIFI6E adds the 6Ghz range. Will the existing G3100 be capable of wifi6e via a firmware upgrade or will Verizon need to put out an entirely new router to handle wifi6e? I'd hate to buy the current G3100 only to find out that Verizon is releasing another router to cover wifi6e.
Only a few routers have wifi6 and it is not done with a software/firmware update as far as I have read. Netgear and Asus have wifi6 but not many devices at present can use it.

there are other sites.
I don't think G3100 can do wifi6E (6Ghz) so the new CR1000A is replacing G3100 but don't dream about 6E yet because it's NOT stable and practical ANYWHERE! There are just too many technical issues to overcome. Stay put with G3100.
