Waiting TWO YEARS for update on FIOS availability in Philadelphia

I checked for FIOS availability (https://www.verizon.com/home/fiosavailability) TWO YEARS ago and have not heard back. Every city block around me has FIOS. I know Philadelphia has an agreement with Verizon (https://www.phila.gov/press-releases/mayor/city-announces-results-of-verification-of-verizon-fios-ca...) to provide coverage. Could you please give me an update on when I can expect service?

Welcome to the forums.  You're talking to other users here.  We uses don't have any insight into Verizon's plans.

Further, Verizon historically has not announced when neighborhoods will have FiOS deployed until the work is done and they are almost ready to take orders.  In fact, people often notice the installation work occurring before Verizon says anything.

That said, you can ask their social media support team to make sure their engineering database is correct for your address.  You can reach them via @Verizonsupport on Twitter or by posing over at https://www.dslreports.com/forum/vzdirect.  Either method gets you to the same team.  Ask them to open a "FAST" ticket for your address.

Unfortunately this is customers helping customers. Initially verizon stated they were not building out on fios. They were concentrating on wireless etc.

then verizon started building out again in many areas. They did not announce these build outs as stated below. You could call Verizon and see what’s going on, call your states cable commission or consumer protection board to see if they know anything or even go to the link provided by the other poster.

hope it all works out for you. FiOS internet is a very good product.
