Have a Westell Modem 327W run Windows 7 and connect by wireless.
For the past month or so, have had to reboot the modem up to 10 times a day. Then it became every hour. Now it won't work at all. Removed the modem from my computer and reinstalled it but no connection. The lights are green except for the internet one that is red after I try to connect using that system. And red when it stopped working.
I know I had to reset the modem and the computer with Verizon when I was running Windows XP but with Windows 7, it recognized the modem.
Nothing new - no phones or TV's any nearer. Checked all connections.
Thinking this modem is finally gone. Am I right?
Newer modems have better security don't they?
It's possible the modem may be on it's way out, and yes the newer ones should have better security on the wireless side, but unfortunately the ones Verizon carries do not seem to in many cases (I'm surprised the 7500s I've seen do not have WPA2 support). When the modem goes down, are you able to reach http://192.168.1.1/ , and if so, what do you see on the main page?
Finally got someone at Verizon I could understand.
Problem solved - reboot modem, remove and reinstall the internal modem, get it working with the Ethernet cable.
Couldn't get back on this site for a while - my password and all wouldn't work!
That is great to hear/read, please consider marking as solved.
