When will Old Church(Hanover Cty, VA) get DSL

I found an article on PRNEWSWIRE.COM dated 10/14/2011  about Verizon bringing DSL to '185,000 telelphone lines in nearly 90 switching facilities through out Virginia....'   My area; Old Church,  was listed and I call every now and again but to date we still do not have DSL.    Was this article a cruel hoax ?  The link is below.

The question here is, does anyone nearby you have DSL? Some areas inherently are a mess to install DSL due to cascaded pair gains, loaded lines, or rough plant shape. Perhaps Verizon can't place remotes nearby you as well due to land disputes or you're too far away from the actual CO to get DSL Service.

The surrounding area's do have DSL just not us. No one in the Old Church area has HSI of any kind.  There is a remote CO less than a mile down the road but it must have antiquated equipment.  Either that or Verizon thinks it may not get enough subscribers to recoupe the equipment outlay.   There are pockets of subdivisions, but overall we do not meet the per square mile population density requirements of the cable company.   Mobile broadband is weak because the towers are quite short - less than 200 feet.  A amplifier helps but still leaves a bit to be desired.    FIOS is not coming either so I guess we're stuck with either dial-up or satellite.
