disconnnecting bbu wires

I cannot get the terminal connections off. Tried pliers, but don't want to strip the insulation. Tried wiggling the connections, but don't want them to snap off. Suggestions?

This may work but I am thinking get penetrating oil in the Home Depot or local hardware store, wd 40 will also work if you have it in that a few drops should make it easier to remove from the terminals. I use needle nose pliers for most tight spots.
