Not recommended. You can easily change things to allow for some special case.
In either case you need to logon to the router http://192.168.1.1
Userid is "admin". Password on most of the routers is printed on sticker attached to the router. Note its not the passphrase used to connect devices to your wifi. For some older routers it may be the device serial number. I believe some of dsl routers use password "admin" or perhasps "password"
