internet connection

Please help,

I had a very old router from
verizon which I just replaced with the

Gateway.  Before switching I had perfect Intenet connections on wireless devices outdoors.

The Tech came and installed the Gateway. Went smoothly, no issues until I check my connection for outside.  ZERO , nothing.  So he puts in a booster or extender.  This was a bit better just outside my door.  Walk 2 feet away and no connection  He says that someting is interfering, but he dont know what.

So I have been trying to trouble shoot on my own.  By reading I see I can chang the channel that wireless comes over.  I try to follow instructions, but it does not match up to what comes up on My Verizon.  Can anyone help

Which was your old router, and which is the new router? Also, what model booster/extender?
