internet connectivity

I've had no success connecting my smart TV to the network.  I follow the dirfections on screen but invariably receive a message that the server can't be located.  Verizon sold me a new wireless modem and it works fine for the computer but I can't connect the TV.  {edited for privacy}

#1 What is the brand and model of the TV and wireless modem?

#2 You are trying to connect the TV without using wires?

This is more or less a stupid question, but soemthing to consider. Is the Date and Time on your TV correct? Internet connected devices don't always like having an incorrect date set 🙂
