I have been paying for speeds of 50/50 upgraded from 25/25 for $5.00 monthly. Lately everything buffers. I did three different speed tests and was lucky to get 20/20 (not even). Called support and was told that they did not guarantee any speed on laptops!!!!!!! I have been only using laptops for over 7 years. I have one wireless laptop and a wireless printer.
I did not notice any difference in the 25 vs 50 over the past year and never checked speed. However now the speed is slower thant 25/25.
Tech support was non existent and should one be told tht speed doesn't count with laptops? Since I really never had a problem I do not accept that answer as helpful tech support. My contract is up next month - any suggestions on new providers? Xfinity not offered in my area of VA.
They will not guarantee wireless speed. Doesn't matter it is a laptop. Plug into the router and test wired speed. If that is fine, troubleshoot your wirless. Make sure the are no other radio devices near router, reset router, log in and try different channels, reposition router to better location with less interference.
If your speed such on wired connection, try with another computer. Slow speed could be your device or another device on your network. If you do decide to switch, make sure it isn't your device that is the problem. You might be taking baggage to another provider
nothing has changed in 4 years. I get better speed at my daughters house. I travel back and forth. Somehow it has worked itself out. I am changing due to cost.
