I have bought a laptop, can I continue with Verizon if aso how does that work and what do I need to do to get started? I will disconnect my desktop can I keep the same address and password for the laptop?

To use the laptop, just disconnect the desktop and connect the laptop using the Ethernet cable. From there you're online. No need to change anything. If you want Wireless and you don't already have a router from Verizon that offers Wireless, you can attach your own router to the modem.

For outside of your home (such as being on your lawn in the backyard), you can simply use WiFi. While on the go, Wi-Fi is often a good bet since it is generally available and free to use at locations that advertise it. Verizon in some places also runs a Wireless Hotspot service which can come in handy via Wi-Fi. If needed, you can use a 3G/4G mobile connection on the laptop while away from your home.
