I would like to know why new customers get a free wireless modum, and people who have been customers ,who need a new modum get a regular one.

You can always ask them to send a Wireless one out if you're needing one! If you just ask for a modem they'll send you typically something equivalent to what you have. I would rather prefer just getting a separate router to hang off of the modem though. Less hassle and they tend to operate a lot better.
