In the past I have called ,spoke to and troubleshot many internet connections with verizon tech support.
I located speed test and after verifing my account and speed test results.
I called 3 help desk techs and 2 phone calls the one guy from it fixed it in 2 minutes.
Well now it is slow again down to 1.80mbps from 3.00 mbps.
So hopefully the it techs are looking and can reset my connection without a 20 minute Phone call.
I have reset my modem and pc allready.

Step one: Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that your non-bogan public IP Address will show up. It might shown up as the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace) might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Either remove that line or show only the first two octets. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.

#4 If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to the modem, even if you know how to get the Transceiver Statistics from the modem: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?
I have checked the suggested website i am not familiar on its use.
My equipment is a Actiontec GT704WG wireless dsl modem router combination Verizon branded.
Cat 5 cable comming from Dmarc.POTS device installed by verizon cat 5 to my dell 10/100 nic card directtv connected but not always in use .
I have had techs come to the house and said all is good about 2 weeks ago.
speed test this morning is 1.80 and holding.
Last time I called the it tech fixed it in 3 minutes.

#1 If you look around the ActionTec's System Status pages, you should find a section called "DSL" that will show the Transceiver Statistics. I can't tell you for sure where they are as I've never seen an ActionTec modem in person.

b) Copy down the info by selecting it and the copy it.
To copy text this is typically by pressing the CTRL and C key at the same time.
d) Paste the output not inluding your full non bogan IP Address.
To paste output typically you press CTRL and V at the same time.

When you get the speed on your connection reset due to the speed being lowered, it's best to remind the tech you're speaking with to ensure the ASSIA Optimizer has been disabled, if this keeps happening.
