i have the 3Mbps tier with the westell 7500 modem. i usually get 3360Kbps downloads, but it seems to be capped at 2940Kbps for the past two weeks. no matter how many times i reset the modem, i still get 2940. here are my stats,

Just call Verizon and ask them to reset your provisioning to 3Mbps, and also disable the ASSIA optimization system. If you don't have any luck with this please let me know.

Your line is likely being optimized due to length, and you may want to see about getting a Homerun installed at your home (baasicaly, a whole house DSL filter) to help keep 3Mbps stable on that longer line. To see if one will be useful, plug your DSL modem into your NID (the box or device separating your home's wiring from Verizon's line coming in) and pull the same Transceiver Statistics again to see if there is a good difference. I don't believe your line will support a stable 864kbps on the upload, so to keep the line up and running Verizon may need to set a provisioning along the lines of 3360kbps down, 640kbps up.

my line was fine for the first week of 2014, but then there was an outage of verizon's dsl in my area. since then, i have only been getting 2500 kbps download instead of 3360 kbps. can i get the optimization removed?

See my advice above on what to do. Consider getting a HomeRun installed, and just ask a CSR on the phone to get it disabled. Mention the terms "slow speeds" and "disable ASSIA optimizer" and most should know what to do from that point.

Considering your stats are worsening, you should get Verizon out to look at the line.

Does it have to be asking a rep on the phone?

I just posted via the Verizon chat who was asking me if everything was OK and I  asked to have ASSIA disabled and have my line reset after they repaired the line and had a rep come out to the field.

Their response was: "We are not able to disable that. Are you having issues with your service?"

I was originaly getting 2.93 Mb/s down & .66 Mb/s Up realtime - provisioned for 3.4 and .7 respectively as seen noted on my gateway modem from Verizon. They cut it down to 2.29 Mb/s realtime last weekend and when I noticed and asked, they advised me there was noise on the line and that's why it was reduced. That first the noise needs to be serviced and to open a tickent. Rep went out and verified noise, swapped cables to put me on a different line and told me issue was now resolved. But my speed stayed the same even after I rebooted and turned off the modem for 24 hours to see if it would somehow reset at the Verizon side on it's own.

No doubt they have trottled me down and I know it was working perfectly for 2 years at 3.4 Mb/s down (provisioned), so if repaired like it was, then shouldn't it be able to be set back to what it was?

What do I need to do, becaue it seems like I'm being stonewalled. Why can't they disable ASSIA, when it's been mentioned here they can?
