need help from tech support. Brought my own fios router but verizon is charging me

Hi i just got new service from fios
I initialy ordered router rental but I bought my own router one day before the installation (g1100)
the tech used it and installed. he never used any verizon owned router.
I am calling to remove the rental charges but they are under the impression the router installed is theirs
CAn anyone please helpme with this?
eb agent for hours and no help from 800verizon
