I need help with how to set up my web space to contain of 50 or 60 images that will be used in my eBay posting.
I have been through the tutorial but it does not expalin this. It shows me how to add a picture to a given page, but I just cant figure how to do this:
I need to store JPG pictures in my web space. Then be able to post the URL of 1 or more within an ebay listing, using HTML.
I would like to have this information on a sub page, reserving the first page of my Verizon web site to be a general about me page.
I used to use a simple FTP program when I was with Comcast, but I just found out that this is not available with Verizon/FIOS for some reason? I'm not real technical, so keep it simple, folks, please.
Thanks for any help getting me started in the right direction on page setup and access.
Since Verizon decided to 'IMPROVE' our Internet experience by eliminating FTP access for residential customers (just like elimiinating NewGroups was an 'IMPROVEMENT' in the user experience), and forcing us to use a completely useless tool they call site builder, it has become effectively impossible to do anything useful with your Verizon Personal Web Space. While supposed FTP access was removed because of security risks, it is hard not to notice that for commercial web sites that Verizon handles hosting for, FTP access is still very much alive and well. Draw your own conclusions.....
So the short answer is that for all practical purposes you can no longer host your ebay auction images on Verizon personal web space. The choices are to go to one of the many available free web/imaging hosting sites, or spend about $50/year and get your own domain and web hosting from someone like GoDaddy.
In fact if you have personal web space that was in use prior to the end of FTP service, the only thing you can do with it is to call Verizon Customer service and ask them to delete it for you, because you cannot even do that any longer.
It is still possible, it's just a pain. Here's a post by "peteh" on how to achieve this.
