how can i get a open nat type on my ps3 i have a gt704wgb , when i put dmz mode on my ps3 i cnt sign in ................

You really shouldn't have to do anything other than making sure your router is allowing UpNp.  Are you also in the wrong forum?  I thought the router you mentioned was for a DSL connection and you are in FIOS internet.

I thought the ActionTec GT704WGB was a DSL router? Probably a question for the DSL forum at this point, rather than the FiOS forum.

NAT Type shoulnd't affect the speed of downloads on a PS3. They are mostly pulled from PSN, at which case you're at the mercy of Sony' servers. NAT Type matters for games mainly, which includes voice comms and P2P gaming commonly found on consoles due to the lack of dedicated servers.
