We recently upgraded from 3 mbps to 7.1 mbps and there was a speed increase, but every evening it drops signifigantly about the same time every day too. about 6:00 to 10:00 it drops to about 50 kilobytes a second which is also considerably slower than our previous package. Only in the mornings or very late at night is when i am able to get decent speeds, about 600 kilobytes a second. we had a power outage and our internet line stopped working recently and a verizon technition came to fix it. He also separated the phone lines from the dsl line and he said that should have fixed the slow internet problem. It had no affect. it is still slower at the same times. Its aggravating to have to pay more and get less. I have tested the speeds at multiple speed testing sites and they give the same results. We also got a new westel modem a little after the verizon technition came because our old one stopped working, but it was the same problem with the old modem too.
Perhaps what is addressed on
is also happening in your area...
^^
Perhaps. I will give verizon tech support a call and see what they can do.
