so, i had a westell something or other modem and i was having trouble with it randomly turning off the internet for a good 10-15min at a time every half hour or so on some days, and then it would work fine for a week, then 3 days in a row of constant disconnects.
i was sent a westell 6100 in the mail and my fee monthly went up $1 a month for the new modem. i have had the same problem as i had before, and im paying MORE for it now.
It has taken me about 45min to post this, bcuz it has died about 5 times since i logged onto the verizon website at noon. it is now 12:47PM
as i said i have a westell 6100 modem, my router is a Linksys model BEFSR41
and for some reason, speedtest.net says that i am in kansas when i am in california.

My connection drop outs are gone. I read in the verizon help that conection dropouts could be caused by being plugged in to a surge protector. I pluged into to another source, and my drop outs stopped.
