Netgear Orbi and FIOS

I purchased the Orbi and connected to my existing FIOS Quantum router.  Everything is connected, but I have to toggle between 2 different network connections.  Did I do something wrong when connecting.  Example, I can't be on the orbi mesh unit and use the FIOS mobile app to change channels on my fios box, I have to switch back to FIOS, which defeats the purpose of me getting the range extender.

Any feedback or assisatnce is appreciated.
