Service Ready on May 27?

I just ordered the high speed internet service in Boston and it shows that my Service-Ready Date is May 27, 2013.

Does Verizon usually take 61 days to start new services for customers? To me it should take no more than 24 hours.

No.  It doesn't matter whether it is landline for DSL (telephone & internet) or FIOS.  I would call them back and confirm.
