Straight to Google wifi without Fios Router

Hi Fam!

Noob here.

Since Google wifi is a router, when I sign up for FIOS, can I just say I want to use my own router and just connect straight to Google Wifi?

Most of the instructions and videos I have seen involve connecting the Google router to an existing router and then turning off the wifi on the ISP router.

Since I have not signed up for FIOS yet, can I just not get an Verizon router?

Apologies if the question is too stupid 😄

Thanks!

Yes. If internet only then you can go straight to the Google router. The verizon router isn't needed. If subscribing to fios tv then you'll need the verizon router to activate the set-top boxes.

And yes, sorry I missed to mention it earlier.

Just getting the internet.
