hooking up Amazon Dot

Got an Amazon Dot 2.0 for a gift. I don't have a smart phone (and basically don't want one) ... so how do I get the wi-fi on my desktop to talk to my Echo Dot?

The Amazon dot works I believe with Amazons Echo wifi device. You would need to connect to the wifi or home wifi on the Echo in order to push that button to do reorders.  However I see no other way of connecting other than Amazons own FAQ link below.
