Any way to remotely activate Call Forwarding (non-DV)?

My mother-in-law has Verizon Freedom Essentials that includes call forwarding. She's in a rehab center and will be for a month. Is there any way to remotely activate call forwarding or do we have to do so from her phone?

only if verizon will add enhanced call forwarding or ultra call forwarding which i know they use to have but am not sure if they still have. 

OR verizon can do it for you if you have her account info and verify you are an authorized party
