Caller ID on PC?

FiOS Triple Play allows me to view incoming caller ID name/number on my TV screen.  It seems that it should be possible to get the same info as a popup on my PC screen.  Does Verizon offer such a service or can it be achieved via a third party program?  I am using a G1100 router. 

A more general question is how can I use my PC as another phone on my FiOS landline?  I would like to be able to make and receive phone calls from my PC using my landline number.  I'm almost sure this is possible but it is beyond my level of expertise to program this function which, unfortunately, probably is not a hot topic.   I would appreciate technical views on current software availability or why it can (or can't?) be done.
