I had the same thing happen and just went back to setup and did it again and it started working again, and I haven't had another problem with it. In fact, if I recall correctly, it started working again long before 48 hours.

My caller stopped working 3 days ago without any reason and I am not able to get it back. I checked setting on DVR -everything looks fine , the caller ID is enabled but it does not show it on the screen. Does anybody know how to fix it?
Try rebooting your router and Set Top box to see if the problem fixes itself at least temporarily. The CallerID information is delivered through the router to the STBs.
