I currently have a public phone number and want to change it to an unlisted number. However, I want to keep my current phone number. Is this possible and if so, what is the procedure for doing so?
You can switch to have it unlisted and keep your number. We will then not post it publicly. Any publications or other companies that already have your number though it can't be removed from. Anyone in our sales/billing office can modify your service for you. In most cases, you can log into your Verizon.com account to make the change as well.
Unlisted is rather useless. Anyone can still get your number. Unpublished is what you might want. I pay $3.95 a month I think. It used to be $2. I even had my number changed and I am totally upset that somehow people have gotten my number. I suspect once you give it to someone it is out. I bet my wife gave it out.
