Can't set up Digital Voice voice mail

I have digital voice with FIOS and I forgot to set up my voice mail when my account was activated. I have tried calling the number Verizon left me in the package I got at set up and the number that Verizon gave me when I called in. It is not working. I get the recording that says "If you have a voice box on this number please enter your 10 digit phone number followed by the # sign." I enter my home number and it says I do not have a mailbox on that number. I am not given any additional options. Any suggestions as to what I need to do??

If you are dialing 1-888-2-fios-vm and it says that then double check with cust service. They sometimes forget to add the voicemail even though its free. Call 1-888-553-1555 or try the online chat
