Why are the communities bordering on Philadelphia still called "Philadelphia Suburban Zone (number)" on phone-service bills?
Is this an imposition by the state utility commission, or done by agreement of local providers?
Hi Similia40..thanks for reaching out to us--Philadelphia Suburban Zone and other similiar grouping are done so that people living on the outskirts of cities like Philadelphia can make calls between each town without incurring toll charges.
