I’ve been a Verizon customer for years and years and recently upgraded to FIOS. Based upon the problems I encountered, I wonder if Verizon is capable of providing reliable telephone service.
First of all, it took over a week from the time the technician installed the required equipment to my actually being upgraded to FIOS. And it wouldn’t have happened that rapidly if I had not spent hours and hours working with Verizon staff on four separate days. Three times whatever had to be done was supposedly done – except that it hadn’t been done.
During the next-to-last call, I learned that the technician had given me the information for digital voice and I didn’t digital voice. Just FIOS.
After the upgrade had actually happened, I used the *69 feature and learned that I was now getting less information. I got the telephone number for the last in-coming call but no date or time for the call. I called to ask why and, after a very long time, the customer service rep told me that FIOS was a new system and didn’t have all the capabilities of the old system. And they call this enhanced?
Then I wanted the instructions for making a three-way call to check if it had changed. Getting that took forever.
And I just learned that this forum – unlike the forums I have used for over a decade – doesn’t seem to have the capability to edit a post once you have clicked preview.
Is my experience typical?
