Get stutter tone for voicemail but then it says no new mail

I just made a call out on our phone and heard the stutter tone indicating we have a message. I finally found the access number and got in only to find it says we have no new messages. I am not able to access the messages at all as it says there are no new messages. I am still getting the stutter tone. Does anyone know what the solution is?

Few things to check, easiest/fastest first:
1. Dial into the voicemail system and go to the main menu. Listen to the no messages message, then keep hitting * until it exits you. Hang up and check it again.
2. Double check VM access phone number.
3. Have someone in repair reset the feature.
