Getting recorded message on disconnected phone

my phone was disconnected due to a move.  I want a recorded message on the old phone number so that when someone calls it they will hear a message telling them to now call a new phone number.   I've called VZ twice and it still has not been done.

   If I'm understanding you correctly, usually a caller gets a message saying that the line is no longer

   in service if it's been disconnected.

Hello to both you, in response to Patricia's answer yes we do provide a recording that gives the new number as a complimentary service. Patrica if  you fill out this form in the link I provided I can access your old account and see if we can add that recording. I am not 100% sure of how long that recording is provided for or if we are out of the time frame to request it. But I will check. https://www22.verizon.com/content/verizonsupport/
