Trouble shooting guide on line is a joke! Only addresses one problem, no dial tone. Phone stopped working yesterday afternoon, have dial tone. All attempts to dial out result in the "fast busy" signal, all incoming calls go to Verizon Voicemail immediately. Called "customer service", they checked the line, it is a copper line, (no FIOS in our area or plans to add it) said there is a line problem. First availble service call isn't until 12 Aug.! We have spotty cell coverage at best. Nice job Verizon, Customer Care is obviously not an important issue. And of course, attempting to post this results in server error message , what a joke Verison is!

Well todays date is 8/13 so it must have been fixed yesterday per your forum post.
you don’t have to use verizon for phone service. You can get cable phone service, or voip service if you have internet. Or you can file a complaint with the FCC http://www.fcc.gov they work pretty quick. You can contact your states Public Utilities Commission or Public Service Commission via google search which regulate verizon.
verizon is trying to retire copper in areas in favor of fiber connections. If they don’t offer it, then it stands to reason they will fix it.

Thanks, there is no cable, or fiber where I live and hasn't been for 19 years with no plan from any of the cable companies or Verizon to provide service. We're stuck with copper, or iffy cell coverage. And we aren't really in the sticks either.
