I understand that it is not possible to cancel service online. I called the number (1-800-VERIZON) and on completion of the prompts at which I indicated I wished to cancel service I received a recording that no one is able to process the request because of the strike. I am cancelling service because I no longer wish to have a second line.
Call in and request to change your service if it's an additional line that you are trying to cancel. Even asking for new service will work because what you need is essentially a change order to remove the second line on your account and that will get you through to someone who can hopefully help you. The strike makes it hard I know because the temporary workers don't always know what they're doing but you should get an order confirmation if you give them your email address. Hopefully this strike is over soon so the people who know what they are doing can get back in there and do their jobs, Hope this helps.
Asking for new service succeeded in connecting me to a live person, who then processed my cancellation request. Thanks for the suggestion.
I just tried this and also get the customer support is not available because of strike message - on both start or cancel services options. I tried through chat online, they said to call the Verizon #, call the verizon # and the recording says to go to the web! A vicious circle! I need to stop both my TV and Internet and return equipment because I am moving to MI
I feel your pain!!!! I have been trying for a week, countless hrs of wasted time, to get someone to help me and end up in the vicious circle every time. Verizon suddenly added 2 yrs worth of broadband essentials & extras charges to my last bill which totaled $584.12 which by the way was automatically deducted from my checking account because dummy me signed up for auto bill pay (never again!!!!). Guess what? No one at Verizon really cares. I keep getting "transferred" around from rep to rep and by transfered I mean they send me back to the automated system to reenter my account number and choose what dept. I wish to speak with. Even on chat they transfered me around. I never knew you could transfer someone in chat. I am soooooo done with Verizon. Taking that much money out of my account could have cause so much damage but Verizon doesn't give a crap.
I would suggest calling your state corp commision and complain.
OMG, dummy me, I changed providers the day before the strike and now I have nothing, no phone, internet, or cable. Verizon promised a connect date of 08/10 and to date I have no service and It is impossible to get through to cancel service. I did recieve a welcome package from them welcoming me and hoping I am enjoying my new services, what a joke! Just goes to show who's really running the show and not them highly paid executives, Well, strike or not, I'm cancelling my service....eventually. Our only option as I see it is to call BBC or state commissions office ; (
I have attempt to cancel an appointment all day. Forget it, I give up. I hope they call to confirm. If the guy shows up and no one is home too bad! Why should the customer be punished when management has a problem?
i wana cancel my services i call many times but no answer me because it was strike
All requests to cancel service should be done via 1 800 VERIZON. There are agents available to take your call.
