If I discontinue land line what happens to DSL

Please help me understand the relationship between a land line and DSL for both technical viability and price.

I rarely use my land line.

From a technical perspective is a land line required to have verizon dsl?

What happens to the price of Verizon DSL if I discontinue Verizon land line service?

If I need a minimum land line service, what is the minimum service and how much does it cost?

Thank you,

Paul

When Verizon disconnects Landline service, your DSL will generally be converted to a "Dry Loop" plan, or DSL without Phone service. In many Verizon areas your phone will will of course still be "Active," however it may either just give a Fast Busy signal or will only allow 911 calls. But overall, your DSL should not go down when they convert you to Dry Loop, but do expect your bill to go up a few dollars a month for the Dry Loop though.
