Incoming Callers get one ring and static

Bought a new phone system but that isnt' it.  Verizon said it would cost me alot of money to fix the line coming into the house.  Thought about changing companies.  Have any of you tried another company?

If you have an ONT (fios) or Network interface device, then try connecting there.  If its fails there, and your phones themselves are good, then ITS Verizon's problem to fix.
