Landline will eventually be phased-out. Verizon is aggressively emphasizing
all customers to upgrade to FIOS. Go to Verizon's online advertisement for
the availability in your area. Must be signed-on.

You have something called "Triple Play" (excluding the cell phone account): phone, TV, and Internet. You could easily opt for a double play that includes only TV and Internet. In fact you can make the changes online in the "My Services" or "Shop" menus. I've read that the cheapest packages are available if the order is placed online rather than over the phone.

No, I don't think you *have* to have a landline also if you don't want one. I personally still have a landline but lots of people only use their cell phones or I-phones. Like Armond said, I'm sure you can sign up for just the double play instead of the Fios Triple play.
