Need help blocking a phone number

I have a landline phone. The chat person told me to wait for dial tone and do a *60 or 1 1 6 0 and wait for dial tone.

It does not work, hangs up, saying I have wrong #. Need help in blocking a phone number.

Do I need special services for this? Thank you.

Go to My Verizon > Accounts & Services

Scroll down until you see your phone plan and select Manage Calling Features.

You will have to turn on annonymous call block before you can enter specific numbers to block.

Note:  I'm assuming that the method to manage your phones features is similar to FiOS Digital Voice. So if that doesn't work look around on the options you see.
